how small are the things we keep?

I've been super restless working/staring/finishing multiple projects. One project I've recently completed is a sort of collection portrait of my dad. I've been wanting to do this since I took the glasses pictures, but hadn't been back home to do it until recently. I don't know that my dad would have called these collections. He'd probably say he "saved" rather than say he "collected"- either way, these little keepers say a lot about him and mean a lot to me.

envy overload: royal deluxe

Last night, while looking at photos of my friend Sarah Warmker's Chilean travels, I was suddenly overcome by jealousy. Sarah was lucky enough to witness a street performance by the incomparable "Royal Deluxe" and captured these great images.

This elusive troop is internationally know for their enormous marionettes and elaborate public productions. If you haven't seen them in action, you simply must. This is one of my favorite videos, but there are dozens more to check out on YouTube. Enjoy!

hello new day *

Over the holiday my family suffered the sad and unexpected loss of my dad. Death has a way of making us dread the ordinary goings on of day to day life and it will be hard to get back into the swing of things. Fortunately I am surrounded by so many people who love and care for me, and have a lot of things in my life that make me happy, this new little blog being one of them.
Here are some pics taken by D in the past couple of weeks with our new camera.

photo love *

Sarah Warmker is a friend and a super talented photographer, check out these lovely pics from my wedding on her blog.

I love Sarah's work, she is great at making people feel comfortable, and her photos always look so lively and candid. Plus, she sets up a mean photobooth. If you live in Oklahoma... you pretty much need her to photograph your event.

P.S. Her delicious looking food pics are making me hungry! More tasty pics by Sarah can be found here.
